In the United States, obesity has reached epidemic proportions. An unhealthy lifestyle including infrequent exercise and poor eating habits have led to a country where the national weight average has raised 64% in 40 years with the largest increase happening in the last decade alone. The FDA suggests a lifestyle where eating healthy foods and getting plenty of exercise is in everyone's life, but sometimes, that is easier said than done.

Getting the much needed exercise is made easier with the addition of an exercise so fun, so easy, so entertaining anyone would want to get more exercise - a swimming pool. Basketball hoops and even volleyball nets can be added to a swimming pool to increase the entertainment value of the swimming pool to your household. Always guarantee the inflatable rockers and rollers are inflated properly for the best and safest use.

Another of the popular swimming pool toys is the never forgotten swimming pool slide. There are numerous types of swimming pool slides - spiral, straight, curved, and so many more. Each swimming pool slide should be cleaned thoroughly and regularly to insure cleanliness and safety. Usually, swimming pool slides are made of sturdy and durable fiberglass, and use water as a lubricant on the slide surface to add in the fun.

Flotation devices are another of the  popular swimming pool toys preferred by many people. These flotation devices can be simple or deluxe and offer the average person a nice place to relax and pass the day away in the sun getting a nice, even tan. Purchasing a high quality flotation device is a good investment because cheaper flotation devices are not built to withstand the test of time - or the children. Usually, a high quality flotation device will serve the owner well giving years of reliable functionality.

Most people will usually start by looking at local retailers and specialty shops, but the Internet is a great new marketplace for swimming pool toys and supplies. However, when shopping via the web, be sure the merchant is reliable and trustworthy. Check for hidden fees such as shipping and handling that is unrealistically high.
