In Ground Swimming Pools

It’s true that there are more families out there that can afford above ground pools, but many people, despite the obvious price difference, prefer in ground swimming pools. In ground swimming pools have many different benefits that above ground pools do not have:

  • More space for family and friends.

  • Longer lasting.

  • Various styles.

  • Different sizes.

  • More shapes.

The list is a lot longer than that, but you get the idea.

For those of you who have families or a lot of parties with friends who love to swim; you would greatly benefit from having one of these swimming pools. In ground swimming pools make great pool parties because of the space that the pool provides for larger groups.

In addition to size, in ground swimming pools are longer lasting, and are designed with cement on the sides and along the bottom which makes them very durable.  Depending on the desire you have for your pool, the durability is well worth the extra money spent.

Installing an in ground swimming pool, however, will take a bit more time than a regular above ground pool. Installing an in ground pool will take a contractor who will need to dig a hole in the ground. He and his crew then set up the framework outside of the hole.  Once this is done, he will pour some sand in the bottom of the this hole, then set the liner up (made of cement, fiberglass, or vinyl).

In ground pools have a few different types of material that you can select for their liner.  Vinyl, the most attractive out of the liners, is the most popular and is preferred because vinyl swimming pool liners are better for winter.  If you live in an area that receives harsh winters, it might be in your best interest to resort to an in ground swimming pool.

Fiberglass and concrete are also excellent liners, even if not as popular as vinyl.  Fiber glass swimming pools are pre-made at a factory and look like gigantic bath tubs and unlike vinyl liners, you won’t need to replace fiberglass. Here’s a secret: in the end, you’ll probably safe a lot of money getting a fiberglass liner.

One of the most common ways to line your in ground swimming pool is cement.  If you are using concrete, you can have your pool custom poured, giving you the exact design that you want.  Concrete lasts for many, many years, and like fiberglass liners, it doesn’t need to be replaced.  You can also add to the look of this liner by using tile or finishing the concrete liner with plaster. Make sure you keep it clean, though.

So as you can see, in ground swimming pools are great for families who love to swim, exercise in the pool, or like to invite a lot of friends over for pool parties.  Even though they seem to cost a lot of money they are well worth it in the end.
