Above Ground Swimming Pools
Swimming pools can be an excellent investment, and recent reports have shown their addition to more often than not improve house value considerably. If they are done well and built sympathetically with the environment around them, they can add more to the value of the house than it costs to construct. Certainly food for thought.
In addition to the mercenary view, it's always worth bearing in mind that pools are good fun, they can make your house a nicer place to live, and generally make you and your family happier people. They are also excellent venues for entertaining guests and friends.
In-ground pools are built into the ground (the clue is in the title); essentially a big hole is dug, and the sides of the pool constructed around the sides of the hole. Simple, but expensive. Above ground swimming pools are constructed above the lie of the land - there is no digging, no problems with ingress of ground water, and a lot less expense. While they may not be as immediately aesthetically pleasing (though good construction can do a lot to address this), they are cheaper and often a lot more convenient.
Above ground swimming pools are appreciated for three reasons - maintenance, installation, cost and safety.
Since cleaning is always going to be necessary, along with using the right balance of the right types of chemicals, it is clear that above ground pools can be much easier to clean and maintain. They are above ground: access to them become easier for you, access for animals and other debris is more difficult.
Children may easily fall (or jump...) into an in ground pool, for the simple reason that they can easily get closer too them. The additional height of an above ground swimming pool can also mean they are safer, with a ladder or some easily guarded steps preventing easy access.
It is obvious that above-ground pools are easier to install. Often prefabricated pools can simply by delivered an craned into position. Compare this to the long and expense process of employing contractors to come in and construct the in ground pool, and it is easy to see why some people may prefer the former. The prefabricated (or pre made) nature of the above ground pool means that they (or at least their components) can be mass-produced much more easily than an in ground equivalent. If you've got a really simple pool, then you may even be able to install it yourself - imagine the cost savings now.
With an above ground swimming pool, you can spend quality time with your family without leaving your home. Even though there are responsibilities and maintenance involved with a swimming pool, it's well worth it, and if you've been put off by the drag that is a in ground pool, rest assured it's much easier to organise, buy, install, and maintain. If you have been looking for a great swimming pool, you can rest assured that an above ground pool is well worth the time - and the money.
