How To Inspect Your Pool
From inspecting different swimming pool liners, pool covers, pool pumps, pool heaters, and buying different pool toys, there is always a lot of choice. And a lot of choice can simply be confusing; do I buy cover A or B? Which is best for my pool? It's this latter question that has pool owners all over the world scratching their heads, and the solution is not simple. Careful examination and inspection of your own pool, though, can make it a lot more straightforward. Asking questions at a local supply shop also helps to determine the opinions of the experts of the pool world.
The first and most important thing to do is to calculate the dimensions of your pool:
depth
width
length
volume (or pool capacity)
If your depth remains constant, or slopes at a constant rate, then working out the volume is simple; if it's an odd shape, then none of the above may be easy to calculate.
The shape of the swimming pool, along with knowledge of the local climate, will enable you to decide what kind of cover you require for the pool. There are many differing types of pool cover to choose from, and your final decision should encompass all your thoughts about safety, maintenance, heat gain, environmental factors, and personal preference. Using different covers for different seasons or conditions may be an expensive option, so finding the right one for all year round is essential.
Pool covers can often be made or altered to fit your particular pool size, but it's important to ensure that this is possible before paying for one.
The pool liner protects the quality of the water in the pool, protecting it from algae formation and maintaining the pH level. Knowing the dimensions of the pool is essential before purchasing (or even considering) any type of liner. Most liners are plastic or vinyl, and the right one can be attractive, easy to clean and maintain, and practical. Finding one form that accomplishes these goals is difficult but ultimately worthwhile.
A safety inspection is always worthwhile, but it becomes essential if children or animals are going to be around the pool. As fun as pools may be, they are also death traps if misused. Thinking about your pool's geographic location and situation can be a good start: in ground pools are easier to get into, while pools under a tree's overhanging branches may present an excellent opportunity for unwanted visitors to take a dip. A fence and a locking gate may prevent some of the dangers, and an above ground pool may also assist in preventing dangerous or unwanted entry.
Toys and accessories in a swimming pool help enhance the experience. Goggles protect children's eyes from the chlorine, and floats can assist in a child learning to swim. Pool slides can be tremendous fun, it requires the right pool and the right installation - inspect your pool to make sure that this is even possible.
Inspecting your pool is something that simply must be done; it is especially important before your purchase any type of equipment or perform any maintenance.
